Centerpieces, Necklaces and Photo Albums, OH MY!

I'm in a goofy mood. I took a test for my history class and got a good grade :) And Jason is working so hard to get his old house cleaned out, I feel bad that I can't help him more with that. But soon it will be behind him. And I had a bit of an adventure with my hot water heater today. But all is well.
The above is a picture of one of the centerpieces Linda, Jason's mom, has made for the wedding! There are so many creative people involved in this wedding that I'm sure it will be a joy just to see all the beautiful things and people in the same room. I made my necklace over the weekend, if I think of it I'll have Jason take a picture so I can post it. After I got all the stuff together that I wanted to use in it I realized most of it originated from the ocean, or a body of water. Anyone who knows Jason will get why that's neat. And my mom is on a mission to find our guest book photo album etc.
I am so blessed. I'm in love with the most wonderful of men. And he has a wonderful family that have been so welcoming of me. My own family has been so supportive and helpful through this whole process, if a bit shocked. I spent the first 27 years of my life SWEARING that I would NEVER get married. I'm still grinning about that. And to top it all off my friends. Always offering to help with any and every little thing and thinking of things that I wouldn't have thought of til it was too late! Melody had me come over last Saturday and she did a trial run of hair and make up for the wedding. She worked some magic and Jason approved of everything...'cept for the stickiness of the lip gloss. lol.
So I'm a little goofy, mostly though, I'm HUGELY grateful!

Lovely Fire

I don't know how to get the pics from Jason's camera onto my computer and I don't know if his PC is up and running yet, so I will write about Valentines Day without the picture of the fireplace gorgeousness. First of all, thank you to everyone who helped with that move, whether by actually being there, or sending house warmings and well wishes. It all went very smoothly. Jason has this week to get the old house cleaned out then he'll be finished with it. I think he's looking forward to next Sunday. After everyone had left I went to my house to shower and do a few things before we had our Valentines at the new house. Jason took a nap and got cleaned up. When I arrived we exchanged gifts. I had told him earlier in the week about a set of DVD's that were on sale and how I'd resisted getting them. That stinker got them for me! There are 6 or 7 movies all from literature, Jane Eyre, Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Tom Jones, ....of all of them there was only one I'd ever seen before! So he made me promise not to watch any of them without him. After we see each one for the first time together then I can watch it as much as I want. He's smart. Doesn't want me watching movies instead of studying! I got him a book by an author I knew he wanted to read more. We discovered a Chinese restaurant chain had a store just up the road from the new house, so we had take out and watched a movie. He lit a fire in the fire place and we snuggled on the couch. It was the perfect end to a very productive day. And now, I need to do a bit of sewing before I call it a night. LESS THAN 4 WEEKS!

tidbit

I am going to blog about moving last weekend. But I want to post the picture Jason took with it. Silly? Probably.
I feel like its crunch time. There are only little bits of sewing left to do, and my sis has been great about the cake decorating. She's made three mock cakes and sent us pics so we can say yea/nae about this or that(above). Everyone has been so supportive and helpful. I've been going over to the new house for a little while everyday to clean some of the things that were moved in, or take over things of my own. Jason gave me some money to use for organizing the draws in the kitchen. That was fun, and he asked me to pick out some place mats and napkins. We think once we get both our houses integrated we might have to have a yard sale. We have a bit of overlap.
School is going well, but as the middle of the semester approaches more and more tests creep up and projects come due. Thankfully I have a plan.

TaDa!

HA! I get to check something off my wedding list. YAY! I hope she likes it and that it fits good. Abby's top is done. I made lists yesterday of the things I need to do before the wedding. One is school stuff the other wedding stuff. 21 things on the school list. 34, now 33, on the wedding list. 38 days till the wedding. Yeah, I might be stressed. Just a little. I can't wait for 39 days from now! :)

Wood Floors

Jason is so patient with me. I wanted to clean and oil the floors before he moved his things into the new house and wasn't able to get to it till very late Friday night. He helped a lot and they look awesome! He also found a pretty screen for the fireplace and a nice carpet to go in front of it. This evening after I've done some sewing, I'm going over to line the shelves and drawers and clean the cabinets. Last night we got his pictures and the clothes he doesn't need right now, and a lot of other boxes and things over to the house. Being in that house, even though I know I don't live there yet feels so right. The whole house is full of peace and promise. I am truly blessed. Truly.

Just a quick note. We got the keys to the new house on monday! I'm so excited, its a beautiful house, wood floors and a fire place and a back yard that is just big enough, but not too big. Jason starts moving in soon. And in six weeks I'll live there too!

More Progress

Sideways. That's fitting, I feel a bit sideways right now. The top half or front bra part of Abby's top. It's late and I have school tomorrow, so the front of her top is done. I will do the rest tomorrow or Wednesday. So close!

BOOTY

Look at my booty!!! Well, I should say "our" booty. Jason did purchase them. But I carried them all over the expo center and parking lot..... HA! 671 letters, numbers and symbols in varying sizes. Ah, the amount of joy the acquisition of this treasure brings to my heart cannot be put to words. We, Jason and I, went to the community yard sale today. It was huge, and very very crowded. And for the most part overpriced. We'd been there for maybe 10-15 min. when I spied an open suitcase full of letters and numbers and such from a printing press or something. There was a sign reading ".50 for large or 3 for a $1, .25 for small or 5 for a $1" So I set about trying to find the letters to spell something thinking "What a bargain!" Then I hear the champion of my heart ask, "How much would to take for all of them?" I couldn't believe my ears. $44 was the price. I told him I thought that was a bargain and before I could take it all in we were closing the case and making out like bandits! YAY!! I also acquired some very nice hand crocheted lace for next to nothing and a wrought iron butterfly. It was a very good day.
